Namaste,
Gurupurnima is a very special celebration of the Feet of one’s Guru. The Guru’s Feet are so very special because they bless everyone and everything by touching Mother Earth. After the puja (ceremony), all the devotees go up to Ma’s Feet to receive blessings. And Ma does not have to be your Guru to receive this blessing. She is the Mother to all and represents whoever your Beloved may be.
After the ceremony, everyone is served prasad (blessed food).
When making prasad, i offer the food to Ma and ask for Her Grace and Blessings. In this way the prasad (food) comes from Her directly. Everyone receives Her Love and Grace and Blessing through the food.
One of the prasad sweets served at this year’s Gurupurnima is Chocolate Brownies. They are chocolaty, delicious, gluten free, and will make you smile!
Happy Gurupurnima!!!
Thank you Ma for your Grace every moment.

Always and forever at the Feet of my Guru, Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati

Ingredients:
- Dry Ingredients: (1 mixing bowl)
- 7/8 cup Oat Flour – Gluten Free – Organic
- 1/2 cup Arrowroot Powder – Organic
- 1/2 teaspoon Xanthan Powder- (Bob’s Red Mill)
- 1/2 teaspoon Himalayan Salt
- 1 cup Sugar – Organic
- Wet Ingredients: (Another mixing bowl)
- 1/2 lb. = 2 Sticks Unsalted Butter – Organic – Melted
- 1 1/2 cups Cacao Powder – Organic
- 1 cup Sugar – Organic
- 4 Eggs – Organic
- 2 Tablespoons Vanilla Extract – Organic
- 1 cup Chocolate Chips – Organic
- Utensils:
- Measuring cup
- Measuring Spoons
- Mixing bowls
- Whisk
- 9×13 Baking Pan
- Rubber Spatula
Directions:
Step 1: Mix dry ingredients (except not the cacao powder) with half of the sugar (1 cup):
In a mixing bowl combine the oat flour (look at note below), arrowroot powder, xanthan, and 1 cup of sugar. Don’t add the cacao powder yet, that’s in the next step.
A note about oat flour. If you can’t find oat flour or want to try a different way, I grind rolled oats in a vitamix to make it into flour. It works really well. It’s possible a regular blender would work also.
Use a dry clean whisk to incorporate all the dry ingredients evenly.
Step 2: Mix melted butter with cocoa powder and half of the sugar ( 1 cup) and salt:
Melt the butter.
In another mixing bowl combine the melted butter and cacao powder first. Whisk until smooth, this allows the cacao powder to not lump up.
Step 3: Add sugar, vanilla, eggs to the cacao butter mixture:
Next, add sugar and vanilla and eggs to the cacao butter mixture, and whisk well.
Then add chocolate chips, and mix again.
Step 4: Add Dry ingredients to wet ingredients:
Now, add the dry ingredients intoi the wet ingredients bowl.
Use a rubber spatula to mix until you have a thick chocolaty batter.
Step 4: Add batter to pan and bake:
Use a bit of non stick spray into your baking dish.
Fit a piece of unbleached baking paper into the dish and then spray more non stick spray on top of the paper.
Add the batter and smooth it out with the spatula.
Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven.
The bars are done when they have set up.
Somewhere in the 15 – 25 minute range,
but every oven is different, and depending on your baking pan the thickness of the batter changes as well.
It is good to test with a toothpick or small knife.
If the knife goes in and out dry, the brownie is done.
Let cool, cut into bars and serve.
Enjoy !!!
